Overview

Ms. Douglas is a solicitor-advocate with more than 25 years of experience in both private practice and the public sector. She currently offers expert legal advice on Commercial, Property Law and Dispute Resolution. Ms. Douglas has a growing client base comprising of Senior Executives and employees in the area of Employment Law. As a result, she is also regularly drafted into companies and businesses to provide People Management/HR support as well as critical In-House Training for management teams.

She is an accredited mediator of 15 years standing; and has acted on several multi-million-pound, high-profile property and employment law cases. Her razor-sharp insight and circumspect mind when it comes to litigation and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) means that she has gained a reputation for being ‘an iron fist in a velvet glove’ and can negotiate her clients out of convoluted scenarios.
Having first practised as a Barrister in the City for the first eight years of her legal career, Ms. Douglas passion lies in civil litigation and the strategy planning that goes hand in hand with this practice area. Ms Douglas is an avid chess lover.

In her spare time Ms Douglas enjoys regularly speaking and training at professional events and has written many legal articles for journals and NDPBs. As a former teacher, Ms. Douglas is a passionate mentor of young people and nurtures her team members to maximise their professional potential.

In her spare time, Ms. Douglas’s wanderlust makes her an intrepid globe-trotter who immerses herself deeply in the culture of others soaking up everything from the language to the customary cuisine and customs. As a serious foodie Ms Douglas is often known for doing business around a good table spread of eclectic and international cuisine from her travels. When back at home, Ms. Douglas can be often be found at art galleries, or live jazz or rhythm and blues performances by her favourite musicians – Good food and good music is the way to her heart.
